Bruce Richier of Leaf Cabinetry did my kitchen and I am delighted with the results. It was an awkward job to take on because I wanted to preserve the cement counter that had been cast in place. Other companies had judged this project too much of a bother. Bruce ingeniously found a way to support the counter so it would not crack while sliding the new cabinets he made underneath it. Indeed it was a lot of work. Bruce was always gracious and patient through it all. I also had several unusual design requests and Bruce embraced each one and found creative ways to achieve what I was asking. For example I did not want the usual “French doors” treatment underneath the sink. Bruce designed a giant pull-out drawer that conveniently houses compost and recyclables in neat bins, it is so nice to use! Also I wanted to avoid kickboards, as they create an enclosed space where rodents might hide, yet I did not want the adjustable metal feet to show, preferring an all-wood appearance; Bruce found a way to accomplish that also. Bruce’s willingness to explore unusual solutions and his technical know-how made it possible for me to obtain exactly the kind of working space I wanted in my kitchen… and it all stayed on budget!
